Michael Dimino, J.D.

Senior Counsel

Mr. Michael Dimino is a registered U.S. patent and copyright attorney, and serves as senior counsel for Johnson, Marcou & Isaacs, LLC, specializing in patent prosecution and software licensing.  Mr. Dimino has extensive experience in all aspects of patent prosecution, including preparation, portfolio management, re-examination, and analysis and opinion.  His expertise in copyright law includes open-source software counseling and data rights under federal government contracts.  In addition, Mr. Dimino has more than 17 years of experience as a patent attorney and 13 years as an electrical engineer.


Prior to joining Johnson, Marcou & Isaacs, LLC, Mr. Dimino was counsel at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP in Washington, D.C., and before that, was partner at Novak, Druce + Quigg LLP in Washington, D.C.


Mr. Dimino received his law degree from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2000.  He earned his Master of Science in systems engineering from George Mason University in 1997.  Prior to law school, Mr. Dimino developed Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) systems for the Department of Defense (DoD) after graduating from the U.S. Army School of Engineering and Logistics in 1988.  He also received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1986.
