Legal Experience

Bill Isaacs has over 20 years of experience advising clients on a broad range of intellectual property matters, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets.  

Bill focuses primarily on patent issues in the aerospace, mechanical, electrical, software, and medical device sectors, including:

  • Patent and trademark prosecution, international and domestic

  • Portfolio creation and management

  • Licensing and client counseling

  • Intellectual property due diligence/corporate transactions

  • Invalidity, noninfringement, patentability, and freedom-to-operate opinions

U.S. Navy Engineering and Legal Experience

Bill also currently serves as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Navy Reserve Judge Advocate General’s Corps.  His JAG duties include various aspects of military law and legal assistance.  He is currently attached to the Region Legal Service Office Southeast in Jacksonville, Florida.  

Formerly, Bill served nine years on active duty in the U.S. Navy, where he gained valuable engineering experience as an officer in the Civil Engineer Corps.  

He also previously worked as a senior associate with the Intellectual Property Practice Group in King & Spalding's Atlanta Office.
